About the event

Join us for our Autumn Village Day! Village Days at Bluestone bring families together outside. Through partnerships with local experts, we offer a nourishing and community filled event for the whole family. While you learn a new craft, discuss parenting, or just connect around the campfire, your children play with their peers in our outdoor classroom (Bluestone Mentor supervision provided).

In October, we welcome Adrienne Carlile of Flax Fiber Farm. Adrienne is an embroidery artist and invasive species enthusiast teaching a class on embroidering the highly invasive Japanese barberry. The class will focus on learning a handful of embroidery techniques in order to stitch a barberry felt badge, as well as a discussion on how to identify and remove this plant when possible! Beginner-friendly and featuring a naturally-dyed wool embroidery floss and New York State wool felt to embroider as base.

As part of this class, Bluestone provides light refreshments,…

Bluestone Village plays and learns on the unceded land of our Host Nation peoples, the Munsee Lenape and Mohican. We offer deep condolences to the past, present, and future Indigenous peoples who experienced harm at the hands of colonizers and for the systemic racism they still experience today. We promise to do our best as allies and support our Host Nation and all Indigenous peoples with our actions. We recognize this statement is just the first step and commit ourselves to continue to grow and work towards reparations and healing.
